Event-in-a-Box is an opportunity for you to plan an event in your area. If you want to connect with other alumni near you—whether you're new or have lived there for years—and you want to plan your own type of gathering, Event-in-a-Box is for you!

What we offer:

  • A staff liaison who will be the point person between you and Alumni Relations for this event. This individual will work wtih you from start to finish, providing input regarding scheduling the event, type of event, logistics, and more.
  • A communication platform: our office will handle the invitations, including email communications and social media promotion.
  • Event registration support: we will handle the registration and will keep you informed on registrants. We'll also provide the guest list, nametags, etc. for the event.
  • Financial resources: we may be able to contribute financially,  determined on a case-by-case basis.
  • Swag items for attendees: we may be able to provide some UHart-themed items, determined on a case-by-case basis.

What we ask of you:

  • Events must be planned at least 12 weeks in advance.
  • Be the on-site point-person leading up to and for the event.
  • Pick the date, time, and location for the event.
  • Coordinate with the venue and plan the logistics.
  • Handle check-in at the event.

These may vary depending on what type of event you plan. We can certainly offer input regarding when, where, and what if you would like. All event ideas do need to be approved by us before we commit to providing additional support.
