“Political Liberties and Economic Democracy” to be Discussed at the University

Michael Parenti, a political science scholar and lecturer, will speak on “Political Liberties and Economic Democracy” as part of the University of Hartford’s “Civil Liberties in the 21st Century Community Conversations Colloquium.” This event will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 7:30 p.m. in Wilde Auditorium inside the Harry Jack Gray Center. Parenti’s lectures examine a wide range of subjects within the general areas of politics, culture, economics, and history. Among his subjects are political ideologies, wars, media, and academia.

Parenti is the author of 21 books including Democracy for the Few, a critical analysis of U.S. society, economy, and political institutions. His most recent book is Contrary Notions: The Michael Parenti Reader. “Civil Liberties and Economic Democracy” is the latest event in the University’s “Civil Liberties in the 21st Century Community Conversations Colloquium.” The Colloquium will include three additional lectures in spring 2010.
