Reception
The Alumni Association sponsors a reception for graduates and guests in the Great Room of Konover Campus Center immediately following the ceremony.

Diploma Information
Fall Commencement participants include September 2009 graduates and January 2010 applicants for graduation. Diplomas are mailed to the candidates following their actual graduation dates. The Commencement program lists the names of both September graduates and January candidates participating in the ceremony.

Ceremony Purpose and History
Students finish their degree requirements at different times during the year, and some who complete their studies in September or January, especially international students, find it very difficult to return to campus months later for Commencement in May. Seeking to provide these students with a formal ceremony that celebrates their hard work and academic accomplishments, the Fall Commencement Ceremony was introduced in 1996. It is for both September degree recipients and those who are scheduled to receive degrees in January.
