The fourth-seeded Hartford Hawks earned a spot in the America East championship game by upsetting top seed UMBC 66-48 Sunday in the semifinals of the 2011 America East Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championship presented by Newman’s Own.

The first round, quarterfinals, and semifinals of the combined men's and women's tournament took place last weekend at Chase Arena on the University of Hartford campus, drawing a total paid attendance of 11,979. That number does not include bands, cheerleaders, volunteers, and others who did not have to purchase tickets. The title game of the men's championship, which also is scheduled for Saturday, will pit Boston University against Stony Brook.  The University of Hartford men's team lost a close game to BU in the semifinal round of the tournament.

Come to Boston on Saturday and help cheer on the Hawks to another America East championship, and another appearance in the NCAA tournament!
