An article by Steve Schatz, assistant professor of educational technology, ENHP, was published in the latest issue of Educational Technology Research & Development, the leading journal in the field. The article discusses a method for developing unique meta tags for effective search, a key component in TeachersHelpDesk.com, Schatz's online performance support tool for educators. TeachersHelpDesk.com (THD) is making great waves, recently reaching agreement with the state Department of Education to be used as part of the new Connecticut Educational Network, as well as being featured at the Massachusetts Computer Using Educators conference.


Eugene Kim, associate professor of management information systems, Barney School of Business, and Marc Schniederjans of the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, have been awarded "Best Paper for 2005" for their recent article in the Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education. The paper is titled "Relationship of Student Undergraduate Achievement and Personality Characteristics in a Total Web-based Environment: An Empirical Study."

The Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education is an official journal of the Decision Sciences Institute, which has about 5,000 members worldwide. DSJIE is known as one of the highest quality journals in decision-science related education. The paper by Kim and Schniederjans is about utilizing the Personal Characteristics Inventory (PCI) measure to predict the effectiveness of learning in the distance learning environment.
