The Office of Career Services has announced the launch of a new online system that provides students, alumni, and faculty with powerful new tools for identifying, applying for, and tracking internship and career opportunities.

This new service, called CareerBridge, will empower students and alumni to actively manage their search for internships and full-time, part-time, or seasonal jobs by placing at their disposal the following features:
  • A powerful search engine to identify opportunities and employers using a full range of criteria;

  • The ability to maintain online profiles, resumes, and documents for active review by employers interested in students or graduates of the University of Hartford;

  • A job search management application that will enable them to make direct contact with employers, maintain a record of contacts and correspondence, and manage the progress of their search for employment.
Employers will have the capability to post opportunities online, receive emails when those opportunities expire, search for students with desired qualifications, review student resumes, and create resume books.

In addition, this new system enhances the ability of faculty and administrators to quickly and easily track important outcomes for students and employers, including numbers of jobs and internships posted, applicants per job, and reported hires. During the coming year, additional new features will be added, including an online campus recruitment scheduling module and an events planning module. It is the intention of the Career Services staff to soon provide faculty with administrative access to the system in order to more easily manage internship relationships, track student progress, and maintain a secure online record of notes, documents, and learning contracts.

The student link to CareerBridge can be found at the Career Services website, www.hartford.edu/career. The employer portal is at uhaweb.hartford.edu/career/emplrlinks.htm. Members of the University community are encouraged to spread the word to students, employers, and alumni about this new and significant addition to the University’s portfolio of career services.
