Cumming Appointment in Hartford Courant, Shaw Center Groundbreaking on NBC Connecticut and WFSB-TV, and More

The news that former Hartford Symphony Orchestra Music Director Edward Cumming would be joining The Hartt School as associate professor of conducting and director of orchestral activities generated a significant amount of media coverage. There were articles in the Hartford Courant’s Behind the Curtain blog and the Courant’s Sunday Arts section, and in its JAVA column. There were also stories on West Hartford Patch.com and a Hartford Advocate blog.

The groundbreaking for the Shaw Center at Hillyer College was covered by WFSB-TV Channel 3 and by NBC Connecticut. Hartt Community Division Director Hilary Respass and dance student Gabrielle Collins were featured on WFSB-TV’s “Better Connecticut” show on Thursday, June 9. Respass talked about the Community Division’s Spring Dance Festival, which is coming up on June 18 and 19. Collins then gave viewers a preview of what they will see at the festival.
