Accolades: Sundeep Muppidi

Associate Professor of Communication Sundeep R. Muppidi was invited to give presentations at universities in China, Hong Kong and India during his sabbatical in Asia this past fall. The presentations included:

• Emerging Role and Impact of New Media - Journalism and Media Studies Center, Hong Kong University, Hong Kong



• Development Communication and Role of People’s Organizations - Cheung Kong School of Journalism and Communication at Shantou University, China



• Development Communication: The Role of the Media in Social and Economic Development - School of Journalism, Fudan University, Shanghai, China



• New Media and Market Research - March Marketing Consultancy and Research, Hyderabad, India

Muppidi also was invited to participate in an international conference on “China & America: Media Transformation in a Changing World,” at Wuhan University, in Wuhan, China. This conference was co-sponsored by Wuhan University and the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.

In addition, Muppidi served as subject expert and host for a four-episode educational documentary on New Media produced by the Educational Multimedia Research Center (EMMRC), Osmania University, Hyderabad, India, for the Indian University Grants Commission’s (UGC) national distance education television channel.
