Tennis Schedules Announced

The men's and women's tennis programs have released their 2011-12 season schedules, with both teams kicking off the fall seasons at the Fairfield Doubles Tournament on September 10.

Both squads will play two home matches during the fall, with the men taking on UConn and Holy Cross in West Hartford, while the women will host Providence and Holy Cross.

The spring schedules get underway on February 4, when Hartford travels to Fairfield for a 7 p.m. match. The first two home matches of the spring, against UMBC and Fordham, will take place indoors at the East Hartford Tennis Club, before the squads return to campus for outdoor matches beginning April 1 against NJIT.

One highlight on the women's side will be the match at Manhattan on April 10. The contest will not be played on the Jaspers' home campus, but rather at the Billie Jean King USTA National Tennis Center in Queens, the site of the U.S. Open tennis tournament.

In total, the men will play seven home matches, while the women will be home for eight contests. 

The schedules conclude April 27-29 at the America East Championships, which will once again be held at Yale University in New Haven. The Hawks are coming off encouraging seasons, with the women earning five dual match victories and the men taking six.
