Professor John Feierabend, director of the Department of Music Education, Hartt, has just published First Steps in Music: The Lectures (GIA Publications, Inc.). This set of five DVDs contains lectures on his early childhood music and movement curriculum.
The DVDs—“Who Is a Musical Person?," “Endangered Musical Minds," “Music for Infants and Toddlers," “Vocal Development in Preschool and Beyond," and “Movement Development in Preschool and Beyond”—stress the importance of childhood music education, beginning with infants.
