Hartt School student Andrew McMath received a very positive review from the Cape Cod Times on Saturday, July 30, of his performance in “Dames at Sea,” being staged at the Monomoy Theatre in Chatham, Mass. “The standout voice is McMath,” notes the review. Hartford Art School alum Peter Albano, who is part of an effort to explore, and draw attention to, the portion of the Park River that is buried under downtown Hartford, was the subject of a story in the Friday, July 29, edition of the Hartford Courant. University alum Corry Kanzenberg, who in expert on Norman Rockwell, has been appointed curator of exhibitions and collections at the National Scouting Museum in Irving, Texas (which has the second-largest public collection of Norman Rockwell artwork in the world), by the Boy Scouts of America. A string instrument repair class offered during the summer by The Hartt School was the focus of a feature story in the Stamford Advocate on Monday, Aug. 1. Wendy Delsen, a middle school teacher in Stamford, talked about how much she learned, such as the best way to repair everything from a broken bridge on a violin to a cracked cello, during her week as a student in this program.
