Richard Freund, director of the Greenberg Center for Judaic Studies at the University, was a guest on WNPR Radio (90.5 FM) and the “Colin McEnroe Show” on Monday afternoon, Aug. 29. Freund was part of a discussion of how science and archaeology can be used to validate the stories in the Bible and other religious texts. “I take the Bible seriously, but not literally,” Freund says. The announcement that the University had named Nancy Stuart as the new dean of its Hartford Art School generated quite a bit of coverage after Associated Press distributed the news on its wire on Monday, Aug. 29. Among the media outlets picking up the story were the Washington Examiner, the Houston Chronicle, the Springfield (Ohio) News-Sun, the Cleveland.com, the Daily Journal of Johnson County, Ind., and News 8 WTNH.com in New Haven.
