ENHP's Pedro, Bray, and Miller Address Retention of Early Childhood Faculty
In a highlighted presentation at the June 2011 National Institute for Early Childhood Professional Development Conference held in Providence, R.I., ENHP Associate Professor Joan Pedro, Assistant Professor Paige Bray, and Professor Emerita Regina Miller addressed the “problem” with recruitment and retention of early childhood higher education faculty.
Their presentation, "The Next Generation of Early Childhood Teacher Educators: Where Will They Come From?" also examined existing pathways to the higher education role and the necessary and desirable attributes for successful recruitment in two- and four-year higher education contexts.
This national event is offered and vetted by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and offers an opportunity for practitioners, researchers, administrators and policy-makers to come together and address current trends and issues in education.
