The America East Conference on Wednesday announced the 2011-12 conference schedules, consisting of 16 games, eight home and eight on the road. Both the men's and women's basketball teams will open the 2011-12 conference season just after the New Year against Albany, the women at home and the men on the road.

The men will return to West Hartford for their conference home opener on January 5, welcoming New Hampshire to the Reich Family Pavilion. At the same time, the women will travel to New Hampshire for their first road conference game.

The men’s team will play back-to-back conference home games on two occasions, the second of which will consist of three straight games at the Chase Family Arena. After opening the home conference schedule against New Hampshire on January 5, the Hawks will then welcome Vermont for a Sunday afternoon matinee on January 8.

Hartford will then host Binghamton (February 12), Maine (February 15) and Stony Brook (February 21) in straight home games at the end of the season, before heading to Boston University to close out the regular season.

The women will not play back-to-back home games in 2011-12, but the final three home conference games will all be on weekends, and include visits from Binghamton, UMBC and Boston University, the top three finishers in the regular season a year ago.

For the third consecutive season, the Hawks will host the America East Championships at the Chase Family Arena at the Reich Family Pavilion in March. The four-day event will begin on March 1 with first round games for both the men and women. The championship event in West Hartford will conclude with the two-semifinal match-ups for both the men and women on Sunday, March 4, with the championship game to be played on the home court of the highest remaining seed.
