Mark Turpin, associate professor of mathematics in the College of Arts and Sciences, published a paper in the most recent issue of The Proceedings of the American Mathematical Society.
The paper, "A pseudorotation with quadratic irrational rotation number," presents a construction solving a problem that had been unsolved for 20 years.
