Hawks Take Undefeated Record Into Sunday Showdown at BU
The University of Hartford women's soccer team remains undefeated after shutting out Vermont 2-0 Sunday in the Hawks' final regular season home game and then rallying to tie Albany in the closing minutes on Thursday afternoon.
The Hawks' record is 13-0-3 on the season and a perfect 6-0-1 in America East conference play, making this the best season in program history. Sunday's shutout was the 12th of the season for the Hawks.
Prior to Sunday's game, the Hawks honored seniors Amanda Lo Bello, Jenee King, Nicole Weil, Lauren Brodeur, Michele DeSanti and Mary Beth Hamilton. Lo Bello made the most of Senior Day, coming off the bench to score an insurance goal for the Hawks and help lead the team to its 2-0 victory.

Junior Caitlin Alves added to her collection of awards this week, named SoccerSavings.com/New England Soccer News College Player of the Week. Alves was named the America East Player of the Week on Monday, after posting seven points over two games last week.
The Hawks have moved up to fourth in the NSCAA regional rankings of all schools in the Northeast and will square off against the team one spot above them, conference rival Boston University, on Sunday afternoon in Boston. BU is ranked 16th nationally and carries a 15-2-1 overall record into the game, 7-0 in America East. A Hartford win would prevent Boston University from claiming its fifth-straight America East regular-season title.
