Goldstein in New York Post, Jones on MSNBC.com, Sekou on “The Real Story,” and More

Warren Goldstein, professor and chair of the history department in the College of Arts and Sciences, was featured in a number of news reports about the “Occupy Wall Street” protest movement. He was interviewed for an Associated Press story that appeared in The Republic newspaper in Columbus, Ind.;, was interviewed for a story on YNN.com; and was quoted in an Oct. 10 New York Post story. Also, Goldstein has been updating his Huffington Post blog on his "Occupy Wall Street" activities. Click here to read his blog.

In addition, University student Hannah Kluger, who had been taking part in the Occupy Hartford movement, was interviewed for a story in the Monday, Oct. 17, issue of the Hartford Courant. Click here to read the story.

The Hartt School’s 10th Annual Gala was highlighted in the Hartford Courant’s “JAVA” column on Tuesday, Oct. 18. Click to see the write-up and photos from the event.

On Thursday, Oct. 13, the University’s Entrepreneurial Center hosted a gathering of women business owners and Gov. Dan Malloy for a discussion on jobs and economic growth. The discussion was the subject of a story on WTNH-TV Channel 8 and featured an interview with businesswoman Julianne Roth, who earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University and has participated in workshops and programs offered by the Entrepreneurial Center.

Eleta Jones, associate director of the University’s Center for Professional Development, was interviewed for an Associated Press story about hunting for a job during an economic downturn. The story was posted on MSNBC.com on Thursday, Oct. 13, and in the Daily Reporter newspaper in Greenfield, Ind. on Oct. 13.

Bilal Sekou, associate professor of political science in Hillyer College, was a guest on Fox CT’s “The Real Story” show talking about the Republican candidates for president and the outlook for the 2012 presidential campaign season on Sunday, Oct. 9. Click here to see his appearance.

After appearing on “The Stan Simpson Show” on Fox CT on Saturday, Oct. 8, to discuss the future of UConn athletics and the Big East conference,University President Walter Harrison was quoted in Simpson’s column on that same topic which was posted to Courant.com on Friday, Oct. 14.
