Hartt School faculty member Glen Adsit, along with 10 Hartt students, participated in Hartford's annual marathon on Saturday, Oct. 15.

Running a half marathon with Adsit were Hartt students Luke Perry, Theresa Rice, Victoria Medeiros, and Sarah Hansen. Students running the 5K distance included Priscilla Appiagyei, John Briskie, Liam Hanna, Joel Meltzer, Megan Ogden, and Jeff Smith.

The group was raising funds for two very important organizations. Fifty percent of the funds raised will go to the "Fund for Access," which allows inner city Hartford students who otherwise could not afford it the opportunity to take music lessons through the Hartt Community Division. The other 50 percent of the funds raised will support the Hartt Masterclass Fund, which helps bring some of the most respected names in performing arts to Hartt to work with students.
