Men’s Soccer Team to Play in AE Quarterfinal Saturday
The fifth-seeded University of Hartford men’s soccer team will play in the quarterfinals of the America East Championship at No. 4 UMBC (University of Maryland, Baltimore County) on Saturday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m.
The Hartford men, who won their last three matches, closed out the regular season with a record of 6-8-4 (3-2-2 in the America East conference).
On Monday (Oct. 31), Hartford freshman Connor Yeaney picked up America East Rookie of the Week honors after scoring a goal in each of the Hawks’ games last week to lead Hartford to a pair of victories as well as the fifth seed in the upcoming America East Championship. The honor, which is the final weekly award handed out by the conference in 2011, is the third for a Hawks player this season, as Rohan Roye scored Rookie of the Week accolades on Sept. 12 and David Bernhardsson was tabbed the America East Player of the Week on Oct. 24.
