Sideranko Named Golfer of the Month
University of Hartford women’s golfer Sarah Sideranko scored Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Golfer of the Month honors for the month of October after posting a pair of top-10 finishes in three October tournament.
The highlight of the month for Sideranko came with a second-play tie at the Rutgers Invitational, finishing two strokes shy of the individual medalist. Sideranko posted a combined round of 152, her second lowest 36-hole total of the fall season.
Sideranko also carded a seventh-place finish at the ECAC Division I Championships also held in New Jersey. She finished the ECAC’s with a two-round total of 155. In the final event of the fall season, Sideranko finished tied for 13th overall at the Sacred Heart Invitational.
The Golfer of the Month honor is the second for Sideranko as she earned the distinction for the same month during her rookie season in 2009. The New Britain, Conn., native led the Hawks through the fall season with a 78.40 stroke average over 10 rounds, while earning a pair of top-five finishes, including medalist honors at the Dartmouth Women’s Invitational.
