Residential Life Staff Recognized at NASPA Region 1 Conference
The Office of Residential Life is proud to announce that the University of Hartford and several of its staff members received recognition at the recent National Association for Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) Region 1 Conference in Sturbridge, Mass.
NASPA is a national organization whose primary purpose is to work toward “the advancement, health, and sustainability of the student affairs profession,” and which is made up of student affairs practitioners from institutions around the world. NASPA Region 1 represents all the states in New England, the Canadian providences of Quebec, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island, as well as the European countries of the United Kingdom, France, Ireland, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
At this year’s regional conference, Max Koskoff, resident director for C and D Complexes, received two prestigious awards. He was first selected as the recipient of the NASPA Richard F. Stevens Outstanding New Professional Award for the State of Connecticut, and received additional recognition when he was awarded the NASPA Richard F. Stevens Outstanding New Professional Award for NASPA Region 1.
During the awards ceremony, the "Tunnel of Oppression," which was sponsored by the University of Hartford and St. Joseph College last year, received public recognition as the recipient of the NASPA Region 1 Program of the Year Award for the state of Connecticut. John Hernandez, resident director for E and F Complexes, accepted the award on behalf of the University, himself, and his co-organizer Marsha Dawson, resident director for A and B Complexes.
Both of these awards are a great honor and we hope you will join us as we congratulate Max, John, and Marsha on receiving this prestigious recognition. More information about NASPA and the awards criteria can be found online at www.naspa.org.
