Volunteers Needed for Tournament
Posted 2/8/2006
The University of Hartford is gearing up for the 2006 Friendship Cottage Cheese America East Women’s Basketball Championship from Thursday, March 9, to Sunday, March 12, in the Reich Family Pavilion.
Volunteers are needed to staff the concierge table, which involves welcoming guests and providing information about the University and the community. The concierge table is located in the Chase Arena, so volunteers can also watch the games.
If you are interested in volunteering, contact Ellen Crandall, associate athletics director, at 860.768.5032.
This will be the fifth straight year that Hartford hosts the nine-team championship tournament, and the last chance for fans to cheer for the Hawks at home before the tournament moves to Binghamton University in 2007. The Hawks won the championship in both 2002 and 2005 and would like to make it three out of five this year. During the past four years, more than 25,000 fans have attended the tournaments.
