Beverly Featured in Sports Illustrated

For the second time in three weeks, a University of Hartford basketball player is featured in Sports Illustrated. The weekly sports magazine honors standout athletes in multiple sports from throughout the country.
Freshman forward Erica Beverly of the Hartford Hawks women’s basketball team is featured in the "Faces in the Crowd" section in the issue of Sports Illustrated that will hit newsstands today. Beverly is recognized for helping lead Hartford to an impressive 17-2 record so far this season. She has tied an all-time conference record, winning eight America East rookie-of-the-week awards.

Senior forward Kenny Adeleke of the Hartford Hawks men’s basketball team was one of five players featured in an article titled "Stealth Stars," in the Jan. 23 issue of Sports Illustrated’s "Inside College Basketball" section.
Adeleke and the others were named as five college basketball players who deserve more national attention. The story cited the fact that Adeleke broke Vin Baker’s school record for most consecutive games with a double-double.
Also on the list were: North Carolina State’s Cedric Simmons, LSU’s Tyrus Thomas, Denver’s Yemi Nicholson, and Arkansas-Little Rock’s Rashad Jones-Jennings.
