Michael Robinson, associate professor of history in Hillyer College, was quoted in USA Today’s “Science Snapshots” column on Jan. 22 about the U.S. military’s efforts to establish a base on Greenland during the Cold War. John Carson, vice president for University relations, was quoted in a CT Mirror.org story on Friday, Jan. 20, about how Connecticut colleges and universities are looking at whether there is value in retaining Washington, D.C. lobbyists given the elimination of federal earmarks and other budget cuts. University President Walter Harrison was quoted in a Saturday, Jan. 21, story in the Hartford Courant about Hartford Mayor Pedro Segarra’s Inaugural Ball and celebrating the mayor, who is a University of Hartford alum. President Harrison was also quoted in a story in the Tuesday, Jan. 17 edition of the Jewish Daily Forward about how college and university presidents who are Jewish balance their religious values with their responsibilities to their campus community. President Harrison was asked whether the Department of Education should expand its definition of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act to cover Jewish students, among other groups. Hartford Art School student Sarah Mitrani, who is studying photography, was quoted in a story posted to the USA Today “College” page on Saturday, Jan. 21.
