Haston and Russell Publish Article in Journal of Research in Music Education

The Journal of Research in Music Education, the leading music education research publication in the United States, recently published a research article by Dr. Warren Haston and Dr. Joshua A. Russell, assistant professors of music education in The Hartt School. The article is titled, "Turning Into Teachers: Influences of Authentic Context Learning Experiences on Occupational Identity Development of Preservice Music Teachers."

Haston and Russell gathered data from undergraduate music education majors at The Hartt School as they participated in preservice teaching at the University of Hartford Magnet School. During these experiences, the students underwent transformations from music students to music teachers. Haston and Russell have presented this model of authentic context learning at conferences around the world.
