Posted 2/29/2012
Warren Haston, assistant professor of music education in The Hartt School, presented a session, "Using Modeling and Imitation in Rehearsals without Teaching by Rote: A Four-step Modeling Sequence," at the 2012 Texas Music Educators Association Convention on Feb. 10.
More than 220 attendees received instruction from Haston on how to appropriately implement modeling strategies in instrumental rehearsals. The conference is the largest of its kind in the United States, and Haston's session was in support of his pedagogical DVD, "Modeling for Band: Efficient Teaching and Authentic Learning," published by GIA Publications, Inc.
