Help Fight Breast Cancer at ‘Pink Zone’ Game Sunday

A portion of the ticket sales from Sunday’s Pink Zone game will be donated to the Comprehensive Breast Health Center at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center.

Join the University of Hartford women’s basketball team in the fight against breast cancer by attending the “Pink Zone” game against UMBC (University of Maryland, Baltimore County) on Sunday, Feb. 19, at noon, at Chase Arena in the Reich Family Pavilion. Doors will open at 11 a.m.

A portion of the ticket sales from Sunday’s game will be donated to the Comprehensive Breast Health Center at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center. Fans are asked to wear pink to Sunday's game, to show their support for breast cancer research and prevention.

The first 500 fans at Sunday's game will receive free pink T-shirts. In addition, fans will have an opportunity to purchase “Play 4Kay” pink bow ties, with proceeds benefitting the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. The bow ties are $35 each.

Fans also will be able to purchase raffle tickets, with proceeds benefitting the Comprehensive Breast Health Center at Saint Francis Hospital. Prizes will include a pink basketball signed by members of the women’s basketball team; a pink fleece from the University of Hartford Bookstore; a framed photo of the team, with the frame signed by team members; and a pink chair courtesy of the Office of Alumni Relations.

Sunday’s game will be televised on CBS Sports Network. At halftime, there will be a ceremony recognizing all student-athletes who have earned a 3.5 GPA or better.

Also for Sunday’s game, the VIP section will be catered by Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse. VIP tickets are $30.
