The University of Hartford men’s and women's basketball teams will play their final regular season home games this weekend.

Women Face Maine Saturday
The women's team will play Maine on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 4 p.m., in the Chase Arena, Reich Family Pavilion (Sports Center). The game will be televised live on New England Sports Network (NESN).

There will be a special pre-game Senior Day ceremony honoring the seniors on the women’s team. Saturday’s game will also feature a celebration of “Howie Gras,” the Hartford Hawks’ version of Mardi Gras. The first 1,000 people in attendance will receive Hartford Hawks beads. Howie Gras is sponsored by the Hawks Athletics Board. Members of the women's basketball team will sign autographs after the game.

The Hartford women recently won the first-ever America East regular season championship in school history. The team ended a 15-game winning streak Wednesday with a loss to Stony Brook – its first conference loss of the season – bringing its overall record to 21-3.

A front-page article about women's basketball Head Coach Jennifer Rizzotti's success with the team appears in today's Hartford Courant. Read the article.

Men Play Boston Sunday
The men's basketball team will take on Boston University in the Chase Arena on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 2 p.m. The men will also celebrate Senior Day with a pre-game ceremony honoring members of the senior class. Members of the men's basketball team will sign autographs after the game.

Before Sunday’s game, students are invited to attend Hawk Fest. This pre-game party is free and open to all students. There will be food, a DJ, prizes, and t-shirts. Hawk Fest will begin at 12 p.m. in the Intramural Gym of the Sports Center. Hawk Fest is presented by Greek Life, RHA, SAAC and SGA.

The Hartford men are in third place in the America East conference, and have won five of their last six games. The men’s team will look for its fourth straight win when it faces Stony Brook tonight (Thursday).
