Accolades: Marcy Cain, Barbara Steinberger
Posted 3/2/2006
Senior Director of Communication Marcy Cain and Director of Internal Communication Barbara Steinberger gave a presentation on Feb. 12 at the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District I conference in Montreal, Canada.
Their presentation focused on the evolution of internal communication at the University of Hartford over the past three years – from the biweekly, printed UNotes newsletter for faculty and staff; to a biweekly online version of UNotes; to UNotes Daily, an online news and information center for the University community that is updated every day.
These dramatic changes were aimed at energizing and improving communication among faculty, staff, students, and other audiences, Cain and Steinberger said in their presentation. Specifically, they said, the move to a daily, online version of UNotes was designed to create a stronger sense of community; weave together all the different constituencies of the University; and help people feel more engaged in daily campus life.
