The University of Hartford men’s basketball team held a free basketball clinic Sunday for the Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters organization.

On Sunday, members of the University of Hartford men’s basketball team, including its coaching staff, held a free basketball clinic at the Chase Family Arena at the Reich Family Pavilion for the Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters organization.

Those who attended the clinic met members of the Hawks’ men’s basketball team, and received one-on-one instruction on basketball fundamentals. In addition, the Hawks ran through several drills with participants, putting emphasis on basic skills such as shooting, passing, and dribbling.

The Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters' mission is to help children reach their potential through one-to-one relationships with mentors that have a measureable impact on youth. For more than 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life.

Following the clinic, the men’s basketball team held its annual end-of-the-year banquet at Tumble Brook Country Club in Bloomfield, Conn. The Hawks’ four seniors – Clayton Brothers, Genesis Maciel, Andres Torres and Charles White – were honored and several awards were handed out to team members.
