Hartt's Joshua Russell Publishes Article
Posted 5/7/2012
Joshua Russell, assistant professor of music education in The Hartt School, authored a study titled "The Short and Long-Term Career Plans of Secondary Music Educators: Characteristics of Stayers, Movers, and Leavers" in the Bulletin of the Council for Research in Music Education.
Russell conducted the study in order to build upon his previous research on this topic and examine the career paths of secondary music educators. With this information, teachers, administrators, and policy makers may be better able to combat unwanted teacher migration and attrition, which often negatively impacts student learning.
