Hartt’s Collaborative Concert in Variety, Cloutier on FOX CT, Greenberg Center in Hartford Courant, and More
There was significant media coverage in advance of The Hartt School’s presentation of its “Collaborative Concert of American Music,” featuring selections from Hartt’s newly acquired Jack Elliott Collection, and performances by the Hartt Symphony Orchestra, along with students from the Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz, and special guests John Clayton and Hartt alumnus Michael Barrett, as well as remarks by Hartt alumna and Grammy Award-winning entertainer Dionne Warwick. Stories about the April 20th concert appeared in Variety on Friday, April 13, and in the Hartford Courant on Sunday, April 15.
Melissa Cloutier, an instructor of biology and human nutrition in Hillyer College, was a guest on the Fox CT Morning Show on Tuesday, April 17. She spoke about the benefits of the Mediterranean Diet, about which she has written extensively. Click here to watch the interview.
Michael Daley, a junior in the College of Education, Nurshing and Health Professions, was highlighted in media stories about college students taking part in a rally to support Gov. Dannel Malloy's education reform proposal at the State Capitol on Thursday, April 19. His remarks were featured in the Hartford Courant and on News 8 WTNH.com.
The Greenberg Center for Judaic Studies held an event with students from the Solomon Schechter Day School on Wednesday, April 18, to mark Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day). A Hartford Courant photographer captured the event and published photos in the “CT Now” section of the Courant on Friday, April 20. The program was also highlighted in West Hartford Patch.com.
Mitchell Weiss, an adjunct faculty member in the Barney School of Business and co-founder of the Center for Personal Financial Responsibility at the University, was featured in a number of publications talking about the issue of student loan debt. He was quoted in the Christian Science3 Monitor on Wednesday, April 25; in a Hartford Courant column by Susan Campbell on Saturday, April 21; and in a St. Louis Post Dispatch story on Sunday, April 15.
