The dolphin named Winter and his prosthetic tale.

See the movie, Dolphin Tale, and meet Kevin Carroll, one of the creators of the dolphin’s prosthetic tail!

There will be a free showing of the film, Dolphin Tale, on Wednesday, May 2, at 7 p.m. in Konover Campus Center.  See the touching and true story of how an injured dolphin named Winter was nursed back to health and fitted with a prosthetic tail. The movie stars Harry Connick Jr., Ashley Judd, and Morgan Freeman.

Then on Friday, May 4, at 1 p.m., meet Kevin Carroll at ENHP Day, at the Mandell Jewish Community Center, 335 Bloomfield Ave. (just down the street from the University campus).

Listen to ENHP Day keynote speaker Kevin Carroll, CP, FAAOP, vice president of Hanger Prosthetics & Orthotics, talk about working with the true star of the film, the dolphin named Winter, and volunteering his clinical expertise in a technical advisory capacity on set during the making of the film. Carroll’s presentation, "Enabling Technologies: From Human Achievements to a 'Dolphin’s Tale,' " will include ways prosthetics and orthotics are improving the quality of life for many amputees.
