The Department of Cinema will host two events this Saturday, May 5, with a special Cinco de Mayo theme: a student film screening and our end-of-the-year get together at Highland Bowl Hartford.

First, student films produced in filmmaking courses this term will be shown at 4 p.m. in Mali II Auditorium, Dana Hall. Refreshments will be provided. Selected films shown at previous departmental screenings can be viewed at http://www.vimeo.com/hartfordcinema.

After the screening, all are invited to join us for a fun time bowling at Highland Bowl Hartford, a local duckpin bowling alley in the west end of Hartford. There's also an arcade area, snack bar, and beverages.

The Department of Cinema is pleased to provide complementary soft drinks, pizza, shoe rental and bowling from 7 to 9 p.m for all cinema majors. Students are free to purchase additional food or beverages at the snack bar.

We will try to provide rides to people who want to go from the film screening to Highland Bowl. If you are going to both events and driving, please offer to bring your fellow students to the bowling alley.

More information about Highland Bowl is available here:

Highland Bowl is located at 572 & 1/2 Farmington Avenue in Hartford, near Whitney Street.
