Students, faculty, and staff help to collect and clean items during a previous "Stash It, Don't Trash It" campaign.

Once again the University community will be collecting useful furniture, food, clothing, and appliances that students would otherwise discard as they move out of their residences after finals and graduation.

We need volunteers to help collect. The collected items will be dispersed to food banks and charities or sold at bargain prices to the University community, and the raised money will be given to charities or other nonprofit organizations.

This year’s collection is made possible by the generous loan of a trailer from Fallon Moving and Storage in Windsor. The trailer will be parked near Quad 7 behind Konover Campus Center. We will be collecting items from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 12; Sunday, May 13; Wednesday, May 16; and Saturday, May 19; and from 1 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 20.

If you would like to volunteer, donate some items, or just learn more about our efforts, please go to our webpage at http://uhaweb.hartford.edu/uhdonates/ or contact Jay Stewart at 860.906.7737 or jstewart@hartford.edu.
