65 Students Join Alpha Chi Honor Society

The Alpha Chi Honor Society inducted 65 new members on Saturday, April 21, at a ceremony in Wilde Auditorium.

The new members as well as their families and friends were welcomed by Provost Sharon L. Vasquez. Associate Provost Chuck Colarulli and College of Arts and Sciences Dean Joseph Voelker also were in attendance. The Alpha Chi faculty advisor, Associate Professor of Rhetoric and Professional Writing Donald Jones, and the 2011-12 president of Alpha Chi, Lisa Karwowski, led the ceremony at which the honored students received their certificates and pins. Seniors also received blue and green graduation cords.

The outgoing officers received certificates for their service: Lisa Karwowski, president; Andrew Goldstein, vice president; Amy Lafeur, treasurer; Anthony Papa, secretary; and Jacqueline Sugrue, public relations.

Also announced were the new officers for 2012-13: Eyas Azzuni, president; Kyle Hebert, vice president; Mariah Ferrigan, treasurer; and Karen Zapata, secretary.
