Students, faculty, and staff help to collect and clean items during a previous "Stash It, Don't Trash It" campaign.

Once again this year, a group of students, faculty, and staff will be collecting useful furniture, food, clothing, and appliances that students would otherwise discard as they move out of their residences after finals and graduation.

If you have items that you would like to get rid of as you move out of your campus living unit, please consider dontaing it through the "Stash It, Don't Trash It!" program.

We will collect and temporarily store the items in a truck trailer generously loaned by Fallon Moving & Storage of Windsor. The collected items will then be dispersed to food banks and charities or sold at bargain prices to the University community, and the raised money will be given to charities or other nonprofit organizations.

This year the trailer will be parked in a new location: between Quad 7 and Konover Campus Center. It will be open for donations from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 12; Sunday, May 13; Wednesday, May 16; and Saturday, May 19; and from 1 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 20.

If you would like to volunteer, donate some items, or just learn more about our efforts, please go to our webpage at http://uhaweb.hartford.edu/uhdonates/ or contact Jay Stewart at 860.906.7737 or jstewart@hartford.edu.
