Decker's and Demirkaya's Independent Study Students Present at Two Mathematics Conferences
Department of Mathematics faculty members Robert Decker and Aslihan Demirkaya led an independent study in Differential Equations in Spring 2012 with four students: Miles Aron '13, Peter Bowers '13, Nicole Byer (Simsbury High School) and Jun Hwan Ryu (Loomis Chaffee School).
All four students gave talks on their work at the 7th Annual Spuyten Duyvil Undergraduate Mathematics Conference at Ramapo College of New Jersey on April 14, and at the 19th Annual Hudson River Undergraduate Mathematics Conference at Western New England University on April 21.
“Stability Analysis of a Reaction Diffusion Equation Using Spectral Methods” was presented by Ryu and Byer. “Stability and Bifurcations of a Klein-Gordon Equation” was presented by Aron and Bowers.
