It's Hartford vs. BU for America East Championship

The top-seeded Hartford Hawks will take on No. 3 Boston University Sunday in the final of the 2006 Friendship Cottage Cheese America East Women’s Basketball Championship.

The game will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday (March 12) in the Chase Arena, Reich Family Pavilion (Sports Center).

University of Hartford students can attend the championship game for FREE, courtesy of the Office of Student Affairs and the President’s Office. Students can pick up their free tickets any time after 9 a.m. Sunday at the Athletics Box Office in the Sports Center. Be sure to bring your student ID.

Non-students who wish to purchase tickets for the championship game should stop by the Athletics Box Office after 9 a.m. Sunday, call the box office at 860.768.4295, or order tickets online at www.hartfordhawks.com.

The winner of Sunday’s game will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. If the Hartford women win, it will be their second straight America East title and second straight NCAA tournament appearance, and their third trip to the NCAAs in the past five years.

Hartford advanced to the championship game Saturday by beating Binghamton 57-46 in the semifinal round of the America East tournament. For coverage of Saturday’s semifinal game, visit www.hartfordhawks.com or www.americaeast.com.

If you can't make it to Sunday’s game, you can still keep up with the Hawks. The game will be broadcast live on WWUH radio (91.3 FM) and www.wwuh.org, and it will be televised live on FOX Sports New England.
