Hawks Smash Record in the Classroom

The University of Hartford's student-athletes have set a new semester record for cumulative grade point average.

The University of Hartford Department of Athletics' combined 367 student-athletes set a new semester record for cumulative grade point average with a 3.22 (previous record 3.18) among all 18 Division I teams.

Overall, Hartford student-athletes have compiled a 3.0 or higher GPA in each of the past 13 semesters.

In addition to a record cumulative GPA, 65 percent of the student-athletes (240 of 367) finished with a 3.0 or higher, with 135 of those student-athletes earning a 3.5 or higher. Also, 15 of the Hawks student-athletes posted a 4.0 grade point average in the spring.

The top performing team on the women’s side was women’s golf, which led all 18 teams with a 3.51 grade point average. The outdoor track and field team led the nine men’s programs with a 3.29 GPA.
