Fall Blackboard Courses Available
Blackboard courses for the fall 2012 term have been created and are now available for faculty. All academic Blackboard courses and rosters are created automatically, using the course listing information in the Banner system.
Instructors requiring combined enrollments in their Blackboard courses should use the online course request form on the Faculty Center for Learning Development (FCLD) website, www.hartford.edu/fcld, to request that their combined courses be set up on Blackboard. Instructors should be sure to submit the correct CRNs for course requests, as the CRN is the basis for student enrollments.
All Blackboard spring 2012 courses have been set to "unavailable" status. Faculty are still able to access them but students can not. Spring 2012 courses will remain on Blackboard and accessible to faculty for approximately one year after the end of the spring 2012 term. FCLD will create archived backups of all spring courses for safekeeping. However, grades and other student-related records are not preserved during archiving so faculty should plan to print out or export any grades recorded in Blackboard’s online gradebook. Instructors who would like permanent records of online discussions (forums), blogs/wikis/journals, or assignment tool submissions should plan to print these out or download them to their computers.
FCLD staff is available to answer any questions about these procedures or any other Blackboard questions. FCLD staff may be contacted at 860.768.4661 or fcld@hartford.edu.
