Meiser Writes Opinion Piece for Hartford Courant, Petrovic in Courant, and More

Patricia Meiser, director of athletics and special assistant to the president at the University, had an opinion article about the 40th anniversary of Title IX published in the Sunday, June 17, issue of the Hartford Courant. The article outlined the progress that has been made and the continuing challenges to creating equal opportunities for women in sports. Click here to read the article.

The Hartford Courant noted in an article in its Wednesday, June 6, “Sports “ section that Connecticut Public Television (CPTV) is talking to the University’s Department of Athletics about televising some Hawks men’s and women’s basketball games, as well as other sports. The CPTV Sports network is looking to expand diversity its offering, particularly after losing UConn women’s basketball to the SNY cable network. Click here to read the article.

University alum Tim Petrovic (’88) shot a 5-under par 67 to take second place in the Travelers Championship qualifier at Gillette Ridge golf course on Monday, June 18, and qualified for the Travelers Championship which begins on Thursday, June 21.
