Sekou on Fox CT’s “Real Story,” Meiser in Hartford Courant, Audibert in the Reminder, and More
Bilal Sekou, associate professor of political science in Hillyer College, was a guest on the Fox CT news show, “The Real Story,” on Sunday morning, July 1, to discuss the political implications of the U.S. Supreme Court ruling on the constitutionality of the Affordable Healthcare Act. Patricia Meiser, director of athletics at the University and special assistant to the president, was featured in two Hartford Courant stories that were part of the newspaper’s “Heroes of Title IX” series. On Saturday, June 23, Meiser was the subject of a feature that looked at her career as a coach and administrator, as she is one of only a handful of female athletic directors among Division I schools. Emily Audibert, of Wolcott, who is entering her senior year in the Barney School of Business, was crowned Miss Connecticut 2012 on Saturday, June 30. Audibert, who is a triple major in economics/finance, entrepreneurial studies, and accounting/actuarial studies in the Barney School, served as a student regent in 2011-12, and has been elected executive vice president of the Student Government Association (SGA) for the upcoming academic year. Golfer Matt Smith, who graduated in May from the University of Hartford, won the 110th annual Connecticut State Amateur golf tournament on Friday, June 29, one year after narrowly losing in the tournament finals.
