The Office of Human Resources Development (HRD) consistently strives to review and streamline processes in an effort to ease the administrative burden on University departments and colleges. HRD also strives to ensure the University community is provided timely updates on form changes that may affect your department or college and the processing of any paperwork.

When completing an Employment Roster or Personnel Action Form, each employee must be assigned to a “time entry method” in the automated timekeeping system, EmpCenter. The time entry methods are time clock (clocking in at an actual time clock), web clock (clocking in through a computer online) and time sheet entry (logging time via an online timesheet within the system). Department heads and/or managers will be responsible for designating an employee’s method of time entry. All employees will be assigned to a method of time entry.

As a result, a field to assign “time entry method” has been added to the Employment Rosters and as well, the Personnel Action Forms (PAFs). As you are completing these forms, please ensure you are choosing the appropriate time entry method option for the employee(s).

The revised PAFs and Rosters are available electronically at www.hartford.edu/hrd/forms.aspx. The forms are located under the "Employment" heading. The forms can be completed online and then printed for circulation through the approval process.

Please begin using these revised forms immediately and destroy old versions that may be in use within your department.

If you have any questions regarding this new field or the new automated timekeeping system, EmpCenter, please contact the Payroll Department at ext. 4579 or payroll@hartford.edu.

Thank you, in advance, for your cooperation.
