Sign Up for Special Olympics Corporate 5K

Come join the University of Hartford Team!

The Office of Human Resources Development (HRD) and the Wellness Committee are inviting interested faculty and staff to participate in the Special Olympics Corporate 5K race at Bushnell Park in Hartford on Thursday, Aug. 9. Our team must have a minimum of three members. After that the number of participants is unlimited.

This 5K focuses on team competition but individuals are encouraged to run or walk. The 5K race starts promptly at 6:20 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 9. The course consists of two loops that begin at Bushnell Park and circle the State Capitol. After the run food, beverages, and live music will be provided.

Registration is from 4:30 to 6:20 p.m. the day of the race. The registration fee is $28. Interested individuals also can register for the race online at http://test.jbsports.com. When registering, click the Corporate Team Registration category. The Corporate Team/Organization Name is University of Hartford. Additionally, the Corporate Team Category is Men’s Open (for mixed-team participation). If you can’t join in, please feel free to come down as a spectator and cheer on your colleagues!

Because the University was awarded a generous grant from the Cigna Foundation, a reimbursement (via payroll deduction) will be available to participants. Please provide a copy of the registration receipt to Kathe Snow, HR generalist and wellness advocate. Additionally, HRD will provide University of Hartford team shirts to those who do not have a shirt from last year’s run.

This 5K also allows interested individuals an opportunity to fundraise. Any money raised will be donated to Special Olympics CT.
