Ashuntantang on WBEZ Radio, Celmer on WNPR Radio, Harrison on ESPN.com, and More
Joyce Ashuntantang, an assistant professor of English in Hillyer College, was a guest on the “World View” program on WBEZ Radio, the National Public Radio affiliate station in Chicago on Tuesday, July 24. Ashuntantang talked about the portrayal of the human rights conflicts in Africa in Hollywood films such as “Hotel Rwanda” in conjunction with her contributions to the book Hollywood’s Africa after 1994. Robert Celmer, director of the Acoustics Program and Laboratory in the College of Engineering, Technology, and Architecture, was a guest on the “Colin McEnroe Show” on WNPR Radio (90.5 FM) on Wednesday, July 25, where he discussed the role of sound in everyday life and the line that differentiates sound from noise. Hartford Hawks women’s basketball coach Jen Rizzotti, who was recently named as one of the Class of 2013 inductees in the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame, did a question-and-answer interview with the Waterbury Republican American newspaper that was published on Saturday, July 21.Her achievement was also noted in the Danbury News-Times newspaper on Monday, July 23.
Former University of Hartford film major and Hartford native, Pedro Bermudez, was highlighted in a Hartford Courant story in advance of the screening of his film, Antifaz, as part of a collection of local films being presented by the Hartford Public Library.
