Zoom in with Prezi, the PowerPoint Alternative
Tired of the linear, expected presentation style of PowerPoint? Come learn about Prezi.com, a website that allows you to create presentations in which you can zoom in, zoom out, move left, move right, and literally turn the presentation on its head.
Nels P. Highberg, associate professor and chair of rhetoric and professional writing and interim chair of cinema, will give an overview of how he has used Prezi in delivering lectures to students and talks at professional conferences. He will also discuss how students can compose essays that merge images and text for rich, deep analysis. He will also share the basics for how to get started with this dynamic, vibrant tool.
The presentation will take place Friday, Aug. 17, 2-3 p.m., in Woods Classroom, Mortensen Library.
