Center for Reading and Writing Offers eTutoring
The Center for Reading and Writing (CRW) announces that eTutoring, an online writing lab, is available to registered University of Hartford students.
CRW eTutoring services will not replace face-to-face tutorial sessions in the Center, which is located in room 209 of Auerbach Hall. The eTutoring services are intended to accommodate distance learning students, non-traditional students who rarely get to campus during regular business hours, and students completing internships, practica, and student teaching placements.
CRW’s eTutoring program is not a proofreading and editing service. Like its counterpart in the Center, it is an academic support service that provides supplementary writing instruction that picks up where in-class instruction leaves off. eTutors will not edit, correct, or revise students’ papers, but rather will help students refine their writing skills and effectively address instructors' assignment guidelines and feedback on drafts.
eTutors will be available Sunday through Wednesday; therefore, papers submitted to the tutors between Thursday and Saturday will remain in the time-stamped queue until the next eTutor is working. Advanced papers of substantial length might require more than one submission. Some students may be advised that it is in their best interests to meet one-on-one in the Center.
All students utilizing eTutoring services at the University accept and will follow the tenets of academic honesty set forth and enforced by the University of Hartford. Failure to adhere to these policies will result in forfeiture of eTutoring privileges.
Here are the steps for using eTutoring:
