Faculty and Staff: Register for a Free Flu Shot

Flu season is quickly approaching and typically lasts through the fall and winter months. In an effort to help protect employees from the seasonal flu, the Office of Human Resources Development is pleased to announce that any regular full-time or part-time faculty or staff member, regardless of whether or not they are enrolled in the University of Hartford’s group medical insurance, will be offered a complimentary (seasonal) flu vaccine.

Vaccines will be offered on Thursday, Oct. 18, in the Konover Great Room from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The vaccine will be offered only to employees who register and on a first-come, first-served basis. The vaccines will be administered by a nurse who has been contracted by United Healthcare.

Interested employees must preregister at http://register.flushotsusa.com/UniversityofHartford. Registration must be completed no later than Monday, Oct. 15.  Download complete registration instructions.

If you are not available on Oct. 18 to receive a complimentary flu shot, Health Services is providing the flu shot for $25. To receive your vaccine, stop by Health Services, located in the Sports Center, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday. No appointment is necessary. In addition, Health Services will be holding flu shot clinics later this fall.
