The Record Open Arctic Ocean of 2012
Will it Affect This Year’s Weather?
Tom Wysmuller, NASA meteorologist, who has lectured nationally and around the world on climate for over a decade, will deliver a short version of the climate update he presented last month in Houston at NASA’s Johnson Space Center. Covered will be oceanic warming, the relationship between El Niño, La Niña, and the jet streams, CO2/Temperature linkage, sea-level rise, and the ice core data supporting the above. A Q&A session will follow the presentation.
Wysmuller is the creator of the website, www.colderside.com, and he regularly speaks on "The Colder Side of Global Warming."
His lecture will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 23, from 12:15 to 1:45 p.m., in Dana 202 (Mali II auditorium).
The event, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the University of Hartford chapter of Sigma Xi.
